Unfortunately, more and more people are reacting to cosmetic ingredients with undesired skin reactions such as allergies. This applies not only to “chemical” substances but also plant extracts, essential oils and vegetable fats.

In terms of the number of incompatibilities, our products have been well below average for many years. With the new label, we are consistently following this path: In line with our company philosophy “Maximum effect with minimal side effects”, we want to keep the allergenic potential of our products as low as possible. This is why we have decided to make our products hypoallergenic to as far an extent as possible and to refrain from using ingredients that could cause problems for consumers or are ecologically harmful, such as parabens, PEGs, silicones, mineral oils, special perfume ingredients, etc.

We recently introduced this label directly on the product packaging in such a way that it is clearly visible to the consumer.

  • Parabens

The preservatives inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi and protect the cosmetic product from contamination, thereby extending its shelf life. The upper limits for propyl and butyl paraben are 0.14 percent.

  • Polyethylene glycols (PEGs)

PEGs are synthetic substances that can be used as emulsifiers in various cosmetic products. PEGs can be recognized in the list of ingredients by the prefix PEG and by terms ending in “eth”.

  • Paraffin

Paraffin is a petroleum distillate and provides the necessary fat content for cosmetic products.

Paraffins can be recognized in the list of ingredients under the names mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffinum liquidum, paraffinum subliquidum, cera microcristallina, microcrystalline wax, ozokerite, ceresin and vaseline.

  • Silicones

Silicones are synthetic polymers which, depending on their composition, pad, smooth or fixate.

The synthetic substance has many names. For example, they can be found in the list of ingredients under the names: dimethicone, cyclomethicone, cyclopentoxilase or dimethiconol. Water-soluble silicones include amodimethicones, polysiloxanes, PEG/PPG-14/4 dimethicones or dimethicone copolyol.
